Paolo fue rescatado de la perrera de Badajoz por la FBM. ¿Qué le habrá pasado a este hermoso y joven galgo para tener un miedo tan profundo hacia los humanos? Todo su cuerpo tiembla cuando las personas se acercan demasiado.

En un primer momento, lo único que uno quiere es abrazarlo y decirle: «ahora todo estará bien». Pero abrazar a Paolo tendrá que esperar, porque para los perros asustados, lo más importante al principio es construir confianza a través de rituales constantes y repetitivos. Solo hay que estar presente y transmitir calma, algo que a Paolo le falta por completo ahora mismo.

Este perro tan especial necesita poder acortar la distancia hacia los humanos por sí mismo, sin presiones, y al mismo tiempo debe tener la posibilidad de retirarse a una zona segura cuando se sienta sobrepasado. Sus amigos perrunos lo apoyan y lo sostienen: con ellos, Paolo es completamente libre.

En el gran pabellón de la FBM, todo es terriblemente ruidoso y estresante: las peores condiciones para un perro como él. Nunca puede desconectar, relajarse o sentirse en casa.

Estamos buscando para Paolo personas que realmente entiendan lo que significa acoger en su hogar y en su manada a un perro con miedo, que sepan qué condiciones deben cumplirse y por lo que se pasa día a día con un animal así.

¿Tendremos tanta suerte con Paolo como para encontrar a las personas adecuadas?

Paolo was taken over by FBM from the Perrera Badajoz – What must have happened to this beautiful young boy to have this pronounced panic about people? His whole body trembles as soon as people get too close to him. At first you just want to give him a hug and say “everything will be all right now”. But this hug will have to wait, because the first thing to do with fearful dogs is to build trust with consistent, recurring rituals. Simply being there and mediating tranquillity, because Paolo doesn’t have that at the moment. This special dog needs to be able to reduce his distance from people on his own initiative without any pressure being exerted, but at the same time he needs to be able to return to a safe zone if he feels overwhelmed. His dog friends support the boy and give him stability, Paolo is completely unproblematic with them.

The large hall at FBM is terribly loud and stressful, the worst possible conditions for a dog like him. He can never switch off, relax, arrive. We are looking for people for Paolo who know what it means to take such a fearful dog into their home and their pack, what conditions must be met and what you go through with the animal on a daily basis. Will we be so lucky with Paolo and find the right people?
